POLARIS project: Plastic pellet detection test campaign

As part of the European POLARIS project, funded by the European Commission, CEDRE conducted a two-week field test campaign in partnership with the Finistère fire and rescue service (SDIS 29). These tests aimed to assess the ability of response drones to detect plastic pellet spills.

Various types of plastic pellets were used on a wide variety of substrates to replicate different field scenarios and collect operational data.

The results will help to improve preparedness for and response to plastic pellet incidents.
