Pedagogical approach

Our learning approach

Our training courses combine theory and practice, alternating between different approaches to boost the learning process: face-to-face or online lectures, practical exercises with the release of real or simulated pollutants, case studies, tutorials, interactive quizzes, serious games and feedback from past incidents.

Learning and understanding through theory and hands-on sessions: gain lasting skills through this active training approach.

All course participants receive the training materials and supplementary documents (regulations, operational guides, etc.), to refresh and further the knowledge acquired during the course.

Skilled and experienced training staff

Our in-house and external training staff are selected for their recognised skills and experience in the relevant fields.

In addition to our in-house trainers, CEDRE also calls upon experts and external lecturers from the authorities in charge of spill response, the maritime sector, oil companies, the legal field, the academic world and the media to offer diverse perspectives and concrete insights.

If you have any physical ailments or injuries that may affect your participation in the practical exercises (equipment deployment, simulations), please inform us upon registration, as well as your supervisor upon arrival on site.

Pregnant women are strongly advised to avoid exposure to certain pollutants.
