Learning guides
Discover our learning guides designed to teach young people about marine pollution issues. These documents are clear, illustrated resources designed to facilitate learning, either in the classroom or through individual study.

Understanding Black Tides
To provide an overview of current knowledge on oil spill response, CEDRE has produced a learning package entitled "Understanding Black Tides". This document provides a comprehensive overview of the behaviour of oil at sea, response measures, the organisation of response operations, and the environmental and economic impacts of spills.
Intended for 12 to 18-year-old school pupils and their teachers, the package comprises a learning guide and four illustrated posters designed to raise awareness and support classroom learning on the issue of oil spills.
Understanding Chemical Pollution at Sea
To boost knowledge of chemical pollution at sea, CEDRE has produced a comprehensive learning package entitled "Understanding Chemical Pollution at Sea".
Today, the chemical industry is at the heart of the global economy and generates major flows of goods from production sites to consumption areas. The risks have become increasingly acute, in particular due to the growing number of giant ships together with the high rates imposed by global market pressure. The prospect of a chemical spill at sea concerns many public and private stakeholders, as the pollution caused is often invisible and difficult to manage.
Intended for 12 to 18-year-old school pupils and their teachers, this package comprises a learning guide and two illustrated posters designed to raise awareness and support classroom learning on chemical pollution at sea.
