National workshop on the revision and extension of Ghana’s NOSCP (GI WACAF)

CEDRE took part, in an advisory and facilitating capacity alongside RLC Consulting, in the national workshop on the revision and extension of Ghana’s National Oil Spill Contingency Plan, held in Accra from 12 to 14 May.

The workshop was organised by Ghana’s Environmental Protection Authority, with support from the Global Initiative for West, Central and Southern Africa (GI-WACAF). The event brought together representatives from the key ministries involved in spill preparedness and response, the armed forces and the oil industry.

The discussions and scenarios provided the opportunity to explore ways of improving the national response system for managing operations at sea and on the shoreline, and the extension of this system to Lake Volta.
