Mauritanian delegation visits CEDRE

CEDRE had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from Mauritania, as part of the review of its spill response contingency plan and the reinforcement of its national response system. The delegation comprised representatives from the Mauritanian Maritime Affairs Agency, the Environment Ministry, the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, the Environmental Commission and the national oil company Société Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures.

The week comprised technical discussions with CEDRE’s team on spill preparedness and response, a tour of the facilities, as well as working sessions on the provisions of Mauritania’s contingency plan, conducted with CEDRE and the Global Initiative for West, Central and Southern Africa (GI WACAF).
