International forum and spill response exercise in Taiwan

From 28 September to 3 October 2026, two members of CEDRE travelled to Taipei (Taiwan) upon invitation by the Ocean Conservation Administration (OCA). This visit was organised in conjunction with two complementary events. The first was the International Forum on Marine Environment and Marine Debris (29 and 30 September) at which CEDRE was able to showcase its expertise in oil spills, HNS spills and marine litter. CEDRE then took part, alongside the Taiwanese authorities, in a crisis management exercise simulating a maritime incident, before attending a series of technical visits to the facilities of OCA and SERT (Southern Emergency Response Training and Logistics Center). This visit strengthened operational ties with the local authorities and provided the opportunity to discuss prospects for expanding this collaboration.
