Published on 26.03.2026
In March, CEDRE travelled to Portugal to take part in the coordination meeting for the European Free LitterAT project, which aims to protect and preserve biodiversity by implementing innovative approaches to prevent and reduce marine litter. Following on from this, CEDRE took part in the Workshop on Riverine Litter jointly organised by Lusofona University (Portugal) as part of Free LitterAT and the 4 Regional Sea Conventions (OSPAR, HELCOM, the Barcelona Convention and the Bucarest Convention). CEDRE presented the issue of plastic pellets in watercourses and took part in discussion sessions on monitoring methods and riverine litter reduction measures.
