CEDRE participated in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) R&D Forum dedicated to marine pollution preparedness in the era of alternative fuels, as well as the SpillAsia international exhibition.

As a member of the IMO R&D Forum steering committee, CEDRE presented the first findings from the ARISE sea trial along with the decision-support tools developed as part of the European MANIFESTS Genius project.

Discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between governments, industry, and research to enhance preparedness before major accidents occur. They also led to a proposal to create a working group dedicated to data sharing, in which CEDRE will participate.

At SpillAsia, CEDRE continued exchanges on these issues with visitors to its joint stand with SYCOPOL and led a workshop on maritime risk, presenting scientific results from the MANIFESTS project, as well as a workshop on new propulsion energies and hazardous and noxious substances.
