As part of the Interreg Free LitterAT project, Ireland, Portugal, and France are implementing pilot cleaning actions at waste accumulation sites. The objective is to test different cleaning techniques to identify the solutions best suited to the specificities of different coastlines. CEDRE ensures the coordination of these actions among partners as well as the organization of pilot actions carried out in France.

In September, an experiment was conducted at the mouth of the Contis stream, in the Landes, in partnership with the municipality of Saint-Julien-en-Born and the Syndicat Mixte du Littoral Landais. Several types of equipment and techniques were tested in the field to evaluate their effectiveness, usage constraints, and ease of implementation. The goal was to identify operational and transferable solutions for local authorities and coastal managers.

The findings from this experiment will contribute to the development of methodological guides and training materials for coastal managers.
