POLMAR training in Guadeloupe

CEDRE co-led a training session and exercise in Guadeloupe for local authorities and municipalities, alongside the national expertise center POLMAR-Terre (PNE) from the DGAMPA. The first day was dedicated to pollution crisis management: after a theoretical morning session, participants, authorities, and local elected officials applied their knowledge in the afternoon during a workshop simulating marine pollution reaching the coast. The following day, a real-life exercise, with the activation of the Departmental Operational Center (COD) at the prefecture, allowed them to test their newly acquired skills.

In parallel, specific training was offered to local field responders in Terre-de-Haut, Les Saintes. The municipality was fully involved, with two half-days of theory followed by a practical exercise on the coast. This training, conducted simultaneously with the activation of the COD, focused on shoreline cleanup techniques, including concrete scenarios on Pompierre beach.

These initiatives have strengthened the participants' action capacities, preparing them to act effectively for environmental protection in the event of an accidental spill.
