Rofayda
On 28 July 1999 while on its way from Limassol (Cyprus) to Latakia (Syria), the Honduran cargo vessel Rofayda suffered an explosion and then a fire in the engine room. The ship sank off Cape Greco (Cyprus) with its cargo of 3,000 tonnes of sesame seeds. As it sank, bunker fuel was released. 6 crew members were rescued and 2 went missing.
