On 9 April, CEDRE was in Santander (Spain) to take part in the kick-off meeting for the POLARIS project, funded by DG ECHO for the period 2026–2028. This project aims to strengthen the preparedness and response capacity of European and national institutions in the face of accidental marine pollution caused by industrial plastic pellets. The project will implement an integrated approach combining scientific research, technological innovation and the strengthening of operational capabilities. The project consortium is coordinated by IHCantabria (Spain) and involves five other partners from three European countries: AZTI (Spain), SASEMAR (Spain), CEDRE (France), Météo-France (France) and the Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA, Norway).
