Published on 26.03.2026
In March, Cedre traveled to Portugal to participate in the coordination meeting of the European project Free LitterAT, which aims to protect biodiversity by implementing innovative approaches to prevent and reduce marine litter. Following this, Cedre participated in an international expert workshop on river waste, co-organized by Lusofona University (Portugal) within the framework of Free LitterAT and the 4 Regional Sea Conventions surrounding Europe (OSPAR, HELCOM, and the Barcelona and Bucharest conventions). Cedre notably presented the issue of industrial plastic pellets in watercourses and participated in round tables on monitoring methods and river waste reduction actions.
